Suspicious downtown fire
A fire started overnight at this house at the northwest corner of Carolina and Coming streets. This is the second such fire this week and at least the sixth this summer matching a pattern of suspicious fires.

Regions Bank Robbery
A man robbed the Regions Bank branch at 1545 Savannah Highway by handing a teller a note at 9:36 a.m. Wednesday. Witnesses described the man wearing a shirt with the word "tequila" on it and leaving in a silver Saturn car driven by a white woman.

Divers search for weapon
Divers with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office and the Charleston County Volunteer Rescue squad search a shallow drainage pond in back of the Publix grocery store on U.S. Highway 17 at Main Road. They were looking for a firearm used in Saturday night's shooting at the European Psychic business.

Bus fire in Mount Pleasant
The small fire in the engine compartment of a Thomas Built school bus started with a leaky fuel line, fire officials said. No children were at serious risk from the fire, firefighters said. It was the second bus fire in the Lowcountry this week.
