Forecasters are predicting a "busier than normal" hurricane season for the Southeast Coast. Do you trust these predictions?
Posted by besttm on May 15, 2008 at 9:04 a.m. (Suggest removal) The forecasters can never be 100% accurate, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't be prepared. Always keep an emergency hurricane "kit" at home. Not only is it smart, but you avoid all the Chicken Little's in the community. If I recall correctly, the past couple of years were forcasted as highly active seasons and we really didn't see many hurricanes at all. Posted by pygmon on May 19, 2008 at 7:23 a.m. (Suggest removal) This year will be 'average'. The past two years ocean water temps ran several degrees BELOW normal thru mid-June. This year the temps are dead on the average. Back in '05...i.e. Katrina...they were two to three degrees ABOVE average. I've noticed this pattern for 15 years. The "experts" can't see the forest for the trees. All they know is SCARE THE PUBLIC. |

My kit is always packed and ready. If you have pets don't forget a couple days worth of food and water for them as well!
