SUMMERVILLE — Berkeley County sheriff's deputies shot a man late Thursday during a domestic dispute, authorities said. The man's condition was unknown late Thursday, but he was alive and talking before being taken to a hospital, said Dan Moon, sheriff's spokesman. Deputies responded to a domestic dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend about 8:30 p.m. on Christy Lane off U.S. Highway 176, Moon said. He said the wounded man lived at the home and was armed with a gun. "The officers did everything they could, but they had to shoot him," Moon said. Deputies were not injured, he said. The State Law Enforcement Division is investigating, which is standard procedure in officer-involved shootings.

CDVs are the most dangerous for police officers..better the suspect than the deputy.
