COLUMBIA — Gov. Mark Sanford left the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn., earlier this morning to get back to South Carolina as the state braces for the potential arrival of Tropical Storm Hanna. "It's becoming increasingly clear that the storm in going to affect South Carolina in some way so he thought it was important to be on the ground as those decisions were made," said Sanford press secretary Joel Sawyer. Sanford was scheduled to speak at the Republican National Committee on Thursday but decided it was more important to get back to home, Sawyer. Check back to Charleston.net for more updates on the storm.
