Charleston artist Kevin LePrince is offering for auction an oil painting of a woman and her horse to raise money for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest in a recent Johns Island accident.
Paige Walter's horse Zabrina was euthanized after the horse was hit on River Road on Johns Island last month. Walter and her husband, Richard Ray, suspect a person tampered with the horse's pen.
LePrince had photographed and painted the show horse for years. The painting will be auctioned Thursday at Wells Gallery at 125 Meeting St. Proceeds will go to Crime Stoppers.
Another horse and a pony were also hit on Aug. 12. The pony died at the scene. The second horse was injured but survived.
