Police seek arsonist in I'On fire
The Post and Courier

MOUNT PLEASANT Mount Pleasant Fire Chief Herb Williams has confirmed that arson is to blame for the blaze that destroyed a two-story home in the I'On subdivision on Sept. 19. Fire investigators are now working with police detectives to find the culprit behind the fire at 38 Fernandina St. Police Chief Harry Sewell declined to discuss specifics on the ongoing probe but said "We are working this case as hard as we possibly can." The episode, and the lack of an arrest, has some this upscale neighborhood on edge. The sprawling I'On subdivision is a "neotraditional" community of some 680 homes, where cocktail parties and supper circles are far more commonplace than hot-button crimes. Read more about the blaze in Sunday's Post and Courier.

Wow, this is some pretty lazy reporting. There is sooo much more to this story. Someone firebombed the car that eventually lit the house on fire, for starters. (No pun intened.) In other words, they new IMMEDIATELY that this was arson. Why is this being reported only now?
