Today

-- A cruise in will be held 6-8 p.m. in downtown Walterboro on Washington Street, hosted by Walterboro Cruisers Car Club. There will be door prizes and a drawing. The "Car of the Month" will be selected by a local sponsor. For more information, contact Cathy at 844-8507 or David at 538-8949.

-- The Southern Mustang and Ford Club, in conjunction with Hooters, is kicking off its 2008 Summer Sizzler Series of open car shows at Hooters restaurant at Northwoods Mall in North Charleston. Registration, which is $10 a vehicle, starts at 11 a.m. Trophies will be handed out at 3 p.m. The SMAF/Hooters 2008 Summer Show Series will be the third Saturday of each month through September. It is open to all makes, models and years and includes rods, imports, cycles and trucks. There will be specialty trophies for Best Paint, Best Interior and Best Engine, as well as the Hooters Girls Choice and Hooters Choice. -- The Children's Miracle Network Open Car & Truck Show will be held 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Tanger Outlet and American LaFrance Fire Museum, 4975 Centre Pointe Drive in North Charleston. Registration is $15. Spectators get in free. Trophies will be awarded to the top three in 16 classes, and there will be "Best of" and Club Participation awards. Disc jockey, drawings, food, prizes. Proceed will be donated to the Children's Miracle Network. Rain date is 1-5 p.m. May 25.
