Kraft-ing a better bottled dressing

By Amy Culbertson

Kraft salad dressings have gotten a makeover.

Faced with competition from higher-end designer dressings and a growing market for natural and organic products, Kraft has reformulated and repackaged all 50 of its regular and light bottled dressings. Gone are all artificial preservatives, Kraft says. The bottle's new, too, made of plastic in a hand-fitting shape that the company says takes up less space in the fridge. The flip-top cap makes overpouring less likely.

Kraft has added more "premium" ingredients, such as Parmesan and Romano cheese and extra-virgin olive oil, to its 12 most popular dressings. We tried the Tuscan House Italian and found it light and zesty in flavor, with little "goopiness."
