Art walks series begins Thursday

Local artists and artisans will be exhibiting their wares 5-8 p.m. Thursday on Short Central in Summerville during an Art Walk sponsored by Summerville DREAM and Art Central Gallery.

This will be the first in a series of Art Walks that will take place every third Thursday of the month through September. The event is part of the "DREAMfest Third Thursdays" in Summerville's Historic Downtown, according to Alexandra Kassing, Art Walk chair.

"We had such a tremendous turnout during the recent Golden Age of Summerville Art Walk, and many people asked us when we'll be doing it again," Kassing said.

The DREAMfest Third Thursday events will also feature a monthly concert on Hutchinson Square, and downtown Summerville shops and restaurants will stay open later.

For more information, contact Kassing at 832-6709.
