Shooter takes aim at West Ashley home
Saturday, May 10, 2008
Shots from a military-style rifle riddled a house in West Ashley's Maryville neighborhood on Thursday night. A child was inside a room that bore the brunt of the gunfire around 11:30 p.m., a man at the home told police. He also said the home on Hillsboro Drive, off Sycamore Avenue, was burglarized the night before. The shots came from the right, back side of the house, a police report says. Officers found 11 spent cartridges behind the house and seven bullet holes in bedroom and bathroom walls. Police estimated damage at $1,200. There were no immediate arrests.

Must've been a 5.56, maybe a mini-14 or AR-15 or even 7.62
rifle. Wonder why the idiots shot up that house?

7.62 I'm sure, those thugs can't afford ar's...
ak kits can be bought for under $200, sks complete rifles for that as well
and then you factor in that it's probably a stolen rifle at that so it's even cheaper
legal people with legal guns protect others, after all law abiding citizens abide by the law
it's criminals with stolen guns that pull crap like this all too often, and then people start their anti-gun crap instead of an anti-criminal stance and writing your local judges to try and convince them to keep these thugs behind bars instead of continually letting them out on bail after bail

the shooter is probably out on bail for another shooting/attempted murder kidnapping charge... which he got right after posting an even more previous bail for possession of a stolen handgun/firing a gun in the city limits/possession of crack with intent to distribute etc etc etc...

No way this is a random shooting. Someone is royally p*ssed at someone inside that house. It's a shame that they didn't care that a child was inside.

Very good, Jammer, and I completely agree with your post.

Yeah, SKS or AKS is more likely. And it's quite true about
the criminal element and guns. In the old days, gentlemen
always carried a sidearm, whether a sword or a pistol ..
to protect them and theirs.
That will probably never change; it's needed just as much
today as it was then.

Easy to figure out that this was a retaliation drive-by for a drug deal (or some other illegal venture) gone bad.
But I'm sure the residents of the house that was shot up will "have no idea who could have possibly done it or why."

Jammer and others you are right. The rifle is most likely a SKS due to the amount of rounds fired. The inline box magazine of a SKS holds 10 and sometimes 11 rounds,or the shooter had a round in the chamber. Now to the shooter. Most likely the "Usaul Suspect" a Bravo Mike, between 5'9" and 6'2",medium build, late teens or early 20's,Hair:Black,Eyes:Brown. Crimanal History to incude but not limited to: Drug dealing, possession of a firearm and or possession of a firearm by a convicted felon or person under 21(in the case of a handgun).assualt,B&E home & auto.Home life: NONE,Father:UNKNOWN,Future:NONE.

SCPDBLUE, don't forget the clothing description of the BM---
last seen wearing dark pants and a white T-shirt, or dark pants and a dark hoodie.

Thanks geekguy2008. Also lets not forgetthat; The shooter was last seen driving a 80's model Chevy Caprice or Late model Ford Crown Vic ex-police car with 24" wheels, car maybe painted bright colors with logo's on the side that may read "Skittles","M&M","Milk Duds" or other street slang for drugs in order to try and fool law enforcement.

Shooting at a house this way? This person or these people have to be crazy. Do they understand that they stand a good chance of getting a year of house arrest of they are caught????
