Millionaire South Carolina businesswoman Darla Moore urged Berkeley County Chamber of Commerce members Friday to tap the county's tremendous energy resources to compete in the global marketplace. The Lake City native said the county's proximity to the port, its vast timber holdings and the resources of state-owned utility Santee Cooper along with the need to build more nuclear power plants are three huge assets that can help the county's economic well-being and reduce the nation's reliance on foreign oil. Moore, the first woman profiled on the cover of Fortune magazine, was named to Forbes' "List of the Top 50 Most Powerful Women in American Business." Read more about her comments in Saturday's editions of The Post and Courier.
