Local story

Q: My question is not about what was written but about what was not. I was sure there would be a story on D.J. Trahan, the young Clemson graduate from Mount Pleasant who did so well in the U.S. Open. There was not. I was glad to at least see one picture of him.

I was disappointed that the pages were filled with Associated Press articles about Tiger but none about our local boy. Why? Pat.

A: If the U.S. Open had been close to home, Ken Burger would likely have covered it for The Post and Courier, and he likely would have written about Trahan. Because it was in California, the paper relied on national wires for its coverage. No story about Trahan was provided.

While he did well, the story from this tournament was clearly Tiger versus Rocco. What a thriller!

Where?

Q: I live in North Charleston near the hospital. The Your Lowcountry section I receive on Thursdays is now called "Berkeley." I'm not happy about it. Elaine.

A: Naming the Your Lowcountry sections was challenging. The edition you receive includes news from North Charleston and Berkeley County.

The staff decided on "Berkeley" because it is larger. But after yours and other comments, the name will be changed to "Berkeley/N Charleston."

I think it is a better way to label the section. Thank you for your input.

Index

Q: The index on the front of Sunday's paper said the horoscope was on Page 7G. It wasn't, and I couldn't find it anywhere.

A: The index was incorrect. Sunday's horoscope appears in Faith & Values.

This time it was on the back page of the section.
