A tractor-trailer is lifted Wednesday after it tipped over while exiting from the west bound Mark Clark Expressway to Interstate 26.

A semi-truck driver escaped unhurt after his load shifted and his trailer flipped over the side of an exit ramp this morning, authorities said.

The tractor-trailer was exiting from the west bound Mark Clark Expressway to Interstate 26, North Charleston Fire Battalion Chief Eric Phillips said. The 30-40 ton load of wood shifted on the circular exit ramp. and the tractor-trailer flipped over the side of the off-ramp at 10:54 a.m., Phillips said. The cab was left dangling over the side, and passers by were able to rescue the driver from the cab.

The tractor was being righted around 12:20 p.m. Traffic was blocked at the exit but flowing normally around the interchange otherwise.

However, reports were coming in about another accident backing up traffic at the West Ashley bridge.

Yes, and we all know what caused it. SPEED!!!! What if that trailer landed on a car below? These cops just ride merrily along and can't be bothered by such trivial things as these wild trailer jockeys.( there are only a minute number of truck drivers anymore as well as police officers!!! )

this truck cut my husband off 10 minutes before the crash. he was glad he stopped off at a gas station on his way back to work from his companys other plant speed was the main factor and erratic driving

jifdE3. We all know this type. The ones that drive like idiots yet yell at everyone that outdrives them. If we had a dime for everytime we ran into these "experts" on the road...

well you know the rest.

Yet another speeding trucker on 526 does something stupid. Just how many people need to die before something is done about these idiots! It wasn't that long ago that another container truck rammed a car when merging onto 525 from North Rhett but that time they did kill some people.

Those truck drivers need to watch less NASCAR and just relax
