Interview with Rays head coach Jared Bednar

Posted 11:19 a.m., November 27, 2008

Its Thanksgiving morning and I guess I’ve got no life.

But I want to start promoting this multimedia stuff, since that’s the trend of the business.

The powers that be at the P&C has put up my audio clip with Rays head coach Jared Bednar. (Special thanks to P&C Multimedia Editor Sarah Bates, who is working OT to bring the P&C into the 21st Century).

I’ve tried to put a direct link to the clip on the blog, but for some reason it won’t get you to the right place. So here’s the easiest way to get to the audio clip.

When you’re on Charleston.net, there’s a tag at the top of the page cleverly disguised as “multimedia”. Just put your cursor on “multimedia” and underneath it will pop up some categories, like “video” and “audio”.

Click on “audio” and you’ll get a page of “audio” files. The interview with Jared is near the top.

Hope you guys enjoy it.

See you at The Rink,

APM

Andrew:
Audio files on charleston.net are in MP3 format. Additional software is reqired. Any idea where you can get this software?

Posted by theballsiam on November 27 at 10:29 p.m.

Yep, i can't get it to play either...

Posted by apmiller24 ( Andrew Miller ) on November 27 at 10:34 p.m.

All,

I don't know exactly what software you need to listen to the audio. I'll ask tomorrow (Friday). Sorry about that.

It works fine for me.

I also see the same message, but all I had to do is hit play for it to work.

PS, the ref tonight, which is also the ref we have all 3 games in Mississippi sucks...lol

Posted by RaysRsharp on November 28 at 12:51 a.m.

It would be hard to fing a media player that DOESN'T play MP3 files. If you have Windows, Windows Media Player will work just fine.

Posted by RaysRsharp on November 28 at 1:04 a.m.

If you can't get it to work with the way your browser is set up, you can download the Apple Quicktime browser plugin for whatever system you're using.

Posted by hattrik on November 28 at 8:37 a.m.

Duh......for those technically challenged, like me, when you go to Andrew's interview link on charleston.net, click on the "play" arrow to the right of the audio icon on the grey bar. It works every time. Thanks RaysRsharp and stingrays01.

Posted by theballsiam on November 28 at 5:39 p.m.

There's no play arrow for me. I'm using Firefox.

Posted by trapper on November 28 at 7:26 p.m.

I also am using Foxfire and it works fine. There should be a play arrow in the bottom left corner of the box showing you are loading files.

Up 1 with the first period in the books.

Posted by smv8618 on November 28 at 10:21 p.m.

is anyone else having issues with the website and echl not updating the scoresheet?

Posted by theballsiam on November 29 at 1:58 a.m.

Yeah, it shows 1:16 of the first period still.

Posted by raysfanincharlotte on November 29 at 1:22 p.m.

Is anybody going to the game friday at Charlotte?

Posted by Sportsfan0799 on November 29 at 6:34 p.m.

Any News on any of our guys?

Posted by stingrays01 on November 29 at 7:15 p.m.

Al of our guys are still in Hershey.
Lacroix and Dubuc are healthy scratches tonight because one of Hershey's injured forwards, Darren Reid, is back in the lineup tonight. Also, Forward Graham Mink was sent down from Washington to Hershey and is also playing.
There's a chance that a couple of injured Washington players will be ready to go on Tuesday.
Cross you fingers that nobody else gets injured for Washington tonight or for Hershey tonight or tomorrow. If everything goes well, we could get some players back before our home game Tuesday.

Does anyone want some breaking news? I have a friend that lives in Augusta and they will play their last game tomorrow. This is a reliable source better than Andrew

Posted by RaysFan34 on November 29 at 10:33 p.m.

Unless your friend is Mr. or Mrs. Troutman, anything they say at this point is just speculation. I certainly wouldn't think they are any more reliable than any of the many others speculating about the future of the Lynx since Tuesday morning. (Just FYI, the Troutmans own the Lynx.

Posted by stingray88 on November 29 at 10:50 p.m.

Thanks for telling me something I already know and dan is a great guy and when you only get 2,500 people in your building sometimes you have to cut your losses. Yes my source is reliable

Posted by stingray88 on November 29 at 11:10 p.m.

A good win tonight for the boys although listening to the game sounds like munce was awesome. Hopefully we can take it to (josh) oh i'm sorry the gwinnett

Posted by RaysRsharp on November 29 at 11:27 p.m.

Could Andrew WhiteBread Miller be the key to our success?
Andrew pulls back from the Rays to cover the Tigers..... the Rays start struggling, and the Tigers start winning. Coincidence?

Posted by stingray88 on November 29 at 11:42 p.m.

you might be right but i can find 20 guys and beat the gamecocks

I cant wait for tomorrow and Saturdays game against Gwinnett. Both should be entertainig games. Just read Chris Bourque was sent back to Hershey, so hopefully we will get another guy back from Hershey this week sometime

Posted by stingrays01 on December 1 at 4:22 p.m.

The Caps Insider Blog says things haven't gotten better in Washington.

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/capitalsinsider/2008/12/post-practice_injury_update.html

None of the injured players are ready to play in their game tomorrow and Boyd Gordon, who came back last weekend, may not be able to play either. The Caps will definitely be calling up one forward from Hershey and if Gordon can't play, they will be calling up a 2nd forward from Hershey.

I guess there still could be a chance of us getting a player or two this week seeing as how Hershey doesn't play again until Saturday. We sure could use at least one forward right now.

My favorite Myles Stoesz moment courtesy of Grant McNeill.
