HAVE PATIENCE SEC FANS

Posted 04:15 p.m., December 3, 2008

COLA -- Just because you've seen Clemson, Georgia Tech and possibly others land in bowls this week doesn't mean SEC announcements are coming any sooner than Sunday.

The reason? The BCS released a list of teams that will not be considered for its games. The loser of this week's ACC title game between BC and Virginia Tech will not be in the BCS ... so the next tier of bowls was prepared to move forward with its choices.

The SEC can not guarantee that its title-game loser, Florida or Alabama, will or will not be in the BCS. So, alas, we wait.

Clemson's going to the Gator Bowl (amazing to be in the NYD game, considering the Tigers weren't bowl eligible until Saturday) and Georgia Tech to the Chick-fil-A (is there a scarier team in America to play right now this side of Florida?).

Stay tuned Gamecocks fans and other SEC fans. Your day will come ... Sunday.
