What: Dan and Karen Kennerty, husband-and-wife farmers on Wadmalaw Island who specialize in gourmet and heirloom produce including asparagus, greens, potatoes, onions, leeks, squash, peppers, tomatoes and blackberries.

Local outlets: The Charleston and Mount Pleasant farmers markets, which open in April. Also, a number of downtown restaurants use seasonal produce from the Kennertys.
